Tbilisi Electric Grid, briefly Telasi, was founded in 1937 at the Tbilisi city council and had two – technical and commercial functions, and was obtaining electric power from one power generation facility – Zemo Avchala Hydro Power Plant.
Today JSC “Telasi” is one of the major network companies of Georgia, carrying out the distribution and sale of electric power in Tbilisi. The Mission consists of reliable and high-quality power distribution to the customers. “Telasi” is a supplier of electric power to more than 460 thousand customers and annual power consumption in Tbilisi makes approximately 2 billion kilowatt-hours.
Servicing of customers and operation of power grids are carried out at 10 business centers - from all the administrative districts of the city.
The performance is aimed at the promotion of the investment attractiveness of the company, perfection of management systems, implementation of state-of-the-art, high-performance technologies, development and advancement of customer service quality.
Currently, the company has 1908 employees.
The main types of the Company’s activities are the transportation of electricity; maintenance, operation, reconstruction, modernization and development of Tbilisi power distribution grid to ensure the efficient functioning of the power supply system. The Company renders electricity transit services, consumer maintenance services, and administers the Unified Integrated and Coordinated System of Electricity Supply, Water Supply and Cleaning Service in Tbilisi.
Telasi also carries out activities on technical re-equipment and modernization of the grid. The main attention is paid to the rehabilitation of the most technically vulnerable segments of the distribution grid. The top target is to minimize the number of technical violations and reduce significantly the level of electricity losses.
